privacy policy
last updated: april 14, 2026
summary
iCharm does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. everything stays on your Mac.
data we collect
none. iCharm does not collect analytics, usage data, crash reports, or any personally identifiable information.
microphone & audio
iCharm can optionally access your microphone or system audio to make charms react to sound in real time. this audio is:
- processed entirely on your device
- never recorded, stored, or transmitted
- used only to generate visual animations while the feature is active
microphone access requires your explicit permission via the macOS system prompt. you can revoke it at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
network access
iCharm connects to the internet solely to download charm assets (3D models) on first use. these downloads are:
- fetched from our asset server and cached locally
- verified with SHA-256 checksums for integrity
- not associated with any user identifier
no other network requests are made. there are no analytics endpoints, no telemetry, and no third-party SDKs.
in-app purchases
purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. iCharm does not process or store any payment information. see Apple's Privacy Policy for details.
local storage
iCharm uses UserDefaults to save your preferences (selected charm, position, settings) locally on your Mac. this data:
- never leaves your device
- is deleted when you uninstall the app
- contains no personally identifiable information
children's privacy
iCharm does not knowingly collect information from children. the app collects no data from any user regardless of age.
changes to this policy
if we update this policy, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. since iCharm collects no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
